Abstract: This project was undertaken with an objective to study the mechanism and controlling factors of rainfall-induced landslides in tropical soils. The project involves the examination of the extent and type of landslides in Singapore and the role of antecedent rainfall on landslides. The effect of pore size distribution on engineering properties of residual soils with respect to the degree of weathering was also investigated.
