Title: Realisation of a transfer cavity system.

Issue Date: 2013
Abstract: A transfer cavity system is a laser frequency stabilisation system in which a frequency stabilised reference laser is passed through a Fabry-Perot cavity and used to stabilise the laser frequency of the master laser by ‘locking’ the laser to the cavity. In this project, we will design a system where a 780 nm laser, locked at 52S1/2 → 52P3/2 transition of Rubidium (Rb) atom, is used as a reference laser in a specifically designed half-symmetric confocal transfer cavity. This transfer cavity will be stabilised using the Pound-Drever-Hall technique with the 780 nm laser. A 960 nm master laser will be “cavity-locked” using the 780 nm laser as a reference laser.
