Abstract: 心思意念 forms from the phrase 心思 (heartfelt thoughts) and 意念 (thoughtful intention). With the interest in storytelling, this work examines ways of narrations and researches the approaches and role of visual communication in documenting, particularly home-related memories. By deriving new expression from the word play of the title, the birth of new words, 思念(yearning) and 心意(gift) shaped the direction of how this work is being presented. With an autobiographic and poetic narration, these heartfelt disclosures are the artist’s gift for the audience, to exchange for a moment in discovery their own voices through the stories exhibited. From talking pictures, thinking words and sound of silence, this work reveals other than a monologue of the artist’s homesickness and contemplation of a home, it also brings the audience’s attention towards the global phenomenon of migration.
