Scent profile DS 310-1 U : projecting the smell experience.

Abstract

This project is an inquiry into the perceptual space of smell, examining how visual cues alter perceptions of smell intensity. Abstract visual language is distilled from active smell and image experiments to create an optical vocabulary of scent. By using haptic images as ocular representations of scent, audiences are obliged to adopt a multi-sensory comprehension of the smell experience, thereby challenging pre-established scent prejudices.
