Locomotive : illustrated narrative as applied design.

Abstract

This project began with a few personal aims, to work with illustration as a vehicle for

change, as well as to do something that was socially, as well as personally relevant.

Though the developmental process of this project was a highly organic one, for the

purposes of easy navigation and some measure of organisation, this report has been written in

a particular order.

The report structure flows as such: issues in illustration, behavioural research utilised in

the final outcome, supplementary research on existing and prior examples of railway

graphics, the current state of train travel, and outcome development.
