Abstract: This report focuses on the project requirements and specifications for a stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) system. The backbone of a PV system consists of the solar panel, solar charge controller, battery and inverter. In addition to building the initial prototype of PV system, the additional enhancement feature such as solar tracking device and graphical user interface (GUI) to improve the overall system in term of stability and reliability are also implemented. As in-depth study of the methodology, topology, simulation, calculation, proofing of concept, analyzing data and results finding are also presented. Specifically, the research of the inverter and solar tracking device are addressed in detail. The simulation software PSIM is used for analyzing purposes, the results has been used to identify the potential problem that had occurred during the implementation of solar PV system
