|Keywords:||DRNTU::Social sciences::Psychology::Deviant psychology||Issue Date:||2013||Abstract:||This literature review focuses on the correlation between child maltreatment and the outcomes of future delinquency. It gathers literature from various research studies to better understand and clarify their relationship between each other, and touches on existing theories used to explain this correlation. It also presents the common risk factors that the child faces which might increase his likelihood of delinquency. The literature also covers the variations found across research studies. Given the negative consequences of child maltreatment, we have addressed and evaluated the interventions which target issues faced by the child, the abuser, as well as their family. Lastly, the literature review discussed and suggested future directions researchers could take to cover this topic more extensively and thoroughly.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/52642||Rights:||Nanyang Technological University||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
