dc.description.abstractIn this project, we will look at how medication adherence is affecting the healthcare industry and how people are using the technology to solve the problem. Since most of us with smartphones carry the device with us everywhere we go, we can make use of this habit to tackle the problem. On top of that, the growing trend of smartphone users will only lead to more people being exposed to the solution. I developed my own version of medication reminder app for Android to understand the process of producing an Android app. In my own application, I attempted to build one that involve text recognition feature to allow for storing and transferring of data without the need of Bluetooth wireless transfer. A comparison study was done among the medication reminder app produced by the others released in the market. The report will summarize on the pros and cons of the individual apps.en_US
