Title: | Nonequilibrium dynamics of the soup-of-group model. | Authors: | Zhang, Zhongkang. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Science | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | A collective model normally refers to “soup-of-groups” model is widely used in the field of human insurgency, 1terrorism and 2quantum many-body effects in cuprate superconductors. We believe that this model can also explain the power law behavior observed in the earthquake. This project is to simulate the coalescence and fragmentation processes of a collection of clusters and to understand how the model behaves. Since the two processes happens randomly and frequently, we focus more on the analysis of nonequilibrium state especially a shortly afterwards of a giant cluster fragmentation. After this, we systematically investigated how the distribution of cluster sizes evolved with time. Based on the simulation result, we tried to explain the Omori’s law and Beth’s law of earthquake. However, we found SOG model can’t explain these two laws, and we came up with two causes to the different behaviors between the aftershock model and SOG model. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/52940 | Schools: | School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
