Keywords: | DRNTU::Social sciences::Communication | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | This paper presents the campaign “Project Sapling”, a movement for environmental education of the young by four final year students from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication. Targeted at preschool students aged 4-6, this campaign aims to increase environmental awareness of preschool children in Singapore through a structured framework of activities devised with reference to psychological theories on children’s education. It is designed to be a pilot to initiate green education as part of the preschool curriculum and engaged kindergarten children through hands-on learning experiences, culminating in an exhibition to reach out to a wider audience. This paper consists of primary and secondary research that was used to create the programme framework, an outline of the campaign execution and strategy. It also includes an evaluation on the campaign effectiveness after its culmination and both pre-surveys and post-surveys were used in our evaluation to analyze informational and attitudinal change, along with quantitative data from on-ground initiatives. Finally, it lists future recommendations for sustainability and an appendix to support the main text with original documents, collaterals, along with tables and charts. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/52943 | Schools: | Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
