Software package for a medical group practice

Abstract

This report aims to design and develop a software package that helps to lessen the amount of data a clinic staff has to enter to retrieve the required data. The software enables the basics of generating, storing and editing the different patients' information, as well as the appointments data of the clinic for the particular day. On top of these functions, it also allows the data of the different aspects of the clinic to be tabulated from the day it started its operation, namely, clinic reports, medical supplies and finances. The printing of receipt and Medical Certificate (MC) is also made simpler with the user having only to input the patient's name, before all the remaining required data is automatically loaded onto the screen. Only a few additional clicks is required to complete the task. The software is easy to use because it uses a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that integrates with Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Access to enhance the ease of usage and storing of all the information. The specifications of the software is based on a research and studies done on one of the family clinic in Singapore.
