Title: | Inertial remote-control | Authors: | Chew, Endian Shawn. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | This report presents a Final Year Project cum contest done in collaboration between Nanyang Technological University and STMicroelectronics. The aim of the project involves the development of a practical concept and innovative application design of the iNEMO, a STMicroelectronics produced inertial module. The concept that will be discussed in this report focuses on the exploration and experimentation of using the inertial module as a wireless remote-controller capable of multi-channel movement control. The main study would be the analysis and correlation of the 3-D orientations of the module with a robotic platform. The report introduces the use of two of such robotic platforms; namely a 2-D platform – the Lego Mindstorm NXT and a 3-D platform – the Appcopter, to demonstrate the concept. This will involve programming work and discussions on the development of the application. Discussion on the capabilities and limitations of the concept can be expected, followed by possible real scale applications. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/53065 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
