Abstract: In this thesis a mechanism which produced flapping and sweeping motions was designed and fabricated. Flapping motion was produced by using a linear actuator and sweeping motion was generated by two independent angular actuators. The combination motions of flapping and sweeping can optimize the generation of lift and thrust. Furthermore, the motions of wing are very flexible due to the controllable design.
