Abstract: This report presents the detailed process of producing and testing an ocean wave generator. The wave generator is to be used in a laboratory to recreate an ocean wave environment, which will be used in a separate project that deals with the production of a “ocean wave energy - to electricity” harnessing machine. This report will first delve into the theoretical knowledge of ocean wave characteristics, and then it will proceed on to the designing phase of the project, where functional analysis, morphological chart and evaluation matrix will be used to build up the design. Next, the report will present some detailed drawings of the rig made in solid works and the detailed calculations involved in the designing of the rig. The manufacturing process used in creating this rig will be explained, touching on subjects of material selection to the machining processes used as well. The rig will be put up for testing in which we test it on its ability to convert the mechanical output from the motor to ocean waves. From the test results, we draw the conclusion that the rig is capable of producing an ocean wave environment, albeit at a smaller scale due to some limitations. Lastly this report will present some recommendations for future projects that will enhance the current rig
