Title: | A193 : design of a compact loading machine | Authors: | Wong, Choon Fu. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | A193 explore the use of Modular Product Design that is coupled with Modular Function Deployment to design and fabricate a new compact loading machine that can be integrated with an existing polariscope. Existing loading machine are unable to fully integrate with existing polariscope, hence slowing further researches on studies of how a material’s optical properties are affected when it is subjected to loading. However, the newly designed and fabricated compact loading machine is able to integrate with the existing polariscope and also provide qualitatively accurate types of loading, which are 2-point loading, 3-point loading, 4-point loading and also tensile loading. With such capabilities, the loading machine is able to aid in future studies of materials’ optical properties. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/53314 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
