Issue Date: 2013
Abstract: Electronic ceramics are the special type of ceramic which contains electrical and magnetic properties. Nowadays, they are widely used in energy field, household applications, and automobile etc. Base on different features and functions, electronic ceramics can be partitioned to five types, from insulators, to semiconductors, to metallic conductors, to superconductors, and ionic conductors. This research will cover two different types of electronic ceramics: dielectric ceramics and transparent ceramics. The first part of research will study dielectric ceramics materials. The materials include: titania, Ba(Zn1/3Ta2/3) and Ba2Ti9O20 compound. In the second part of research, transparent ceramics will be covered. The transparent materials such as aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride, yttrium oxide, yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG), and silicon dioxide will be discussed. By learning various exotic samples and chips, and understand basic principles for applications in these devices.
