Abstract: As the demand in health and fitness increases rapidly in recent days, more developers are focusing on devices that can track and monitor people exercising effectively. There are, however, still several rooms for improvement. The project is on MyFitness application, a portable device and software that can track, advise, and recommend an appropriate fitness plan for different types of users depending on their situation. The innovations are the high accuracy and personalization in calculating caloric expenditure. This report is illustrated the author's responsibility and achievement in the project, mainly on the algorithm of calories consumption calculation, PC software, and prototype. A brief discussion on the achievement and limitation, as well as some recommendations for further development is also included. The project is believed to have high potential for improvement in this health and fitness industry.
