dc.description.abstractTurbine blades, in a turbo-machine generate power by harnessing the kinetic energy of the working fluid passing through them and converting it into mechanical energy. With very high temperatures and pressures, the turbines operate under severe environments and are liable for heat induced dimensional changes. To accommodate the changes in blade dimensions, without undermining the turbine efficiency by including a clearance, abradable seals like honeycombs are used between rotor blades and the static walls of the casing.en_US
