Abstract: Milling machines are used to perform a wide variety of machine operations such as milling, drilling, boring and so on. The milling processes and the performances are enhanced by monitoring the tool condition, the tool wear and the surface finish of the workpiece either in real time or offline. Monitoring the tool condition is the key factor as it determines the quality of the product as well as reducing the manufacturing cost in terms of increasing tool efficiency and productivity.
