Abstract: Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) and Polymer-NanoComposite (PNC) membranes are getting increasingly more applications in practical processes. We have developed new theories, experimental techniques, and mathematical models for the characterization of the microstructure and the gas permeation properties of CMS and PNC membranes in this project. Polymer-nanocomposite fibers were also synthesized and characterized for their mechanical and structural properties.
