Abstract: In this project, the combination of Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and white Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) were adopted as a green approach for the development of green and sustainable construction materials. This study evaluates the performance of white TiO2-ECC for mechanical properties, photocatalytic degradation and solar reflectivity. To achieve a more environmental-friendly approach, the replacement of white Portland cement with Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag (GGBS) was included as a part of study. Both of the effects of TiO2 and GGBS on the aforementioned properties were evaluated by various methods. The results show that the effect of TiO2 and GGBS on the mechanical properties varied with their dosage, curing condition and age. An increase in TiO2 content increased the compressive strength properties, solar reflectivity and self-cleaning property but decreased the flexural property. For a greener approach, the adoption of GGBS as white cement replacement needs to be further discussed as well as it only managed to improve flexural property of white TiO2-ECC.
