Title: Design and testing of an attenuating type of wave energy converter
Authors: Chandrasekharan Kartha Ajith.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering::Alternative, renewable energy sources
Issue Date: 2013
Abstract: The objective of this project is to design an attenuating type wave energy converter to extract power from ocean or sea currents. Its main purpose is to provide a versatile system design that can generate electricity of 20kW to 200kW range. Literature review was carried out at the initial stages of the design development. Four conceptual designs are evaluated with respect to the evaluation criteria and the most suitable one is being selected. The concept is further developed through embodiment procedures to refine the preliminary layout and a conclusive design is developed.
