dc.description.abstractTransformer is one of the key components of the power system. When it is operating, the heat will be generated. The cumulative effect of temperature is one of the key factors that cause the power system failure. Based on the type of cooling used, transformers are classified into 'dry-type' and 'liquid-filled' transformers. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages and is used in different situations. This paper is mainly talking about dry-type transformers and is structured into four main parts: a comparison of dry-type and liquid-filled transformers, applications of dry-type transformers, the installation and operational impact of dry-type transformers in marine environment and thermal analysis and calculation of dry-type transformers.en_US
