Abstract: This project aims to develop a novel framework of the dynamic port service scheduling and real-time berth allocation system based on the WiMax wireless communication technology for the real-time communication between liners and port in conjunction with information technology such as soft computing techniques and dynamic scheduling algorithms, in order to improve the performance of the port services, increase the utilization of the port or berth facilities, reduce the costs involved in the port operations, and finally produce more profits from the business of port services. We believe that a successful adoption of the information and communication technology (ICT) with port service scheduling will be able to utilize the real-time information through wireless communication to realize more dynamic and accurate berth allocation schedules, which will bring about mutual benefits to both the port and the liner.
