Abstract: In earlier days, telecommunication involved the use of visual signals like smoke signal, signal flags and etc. In modern days, telecommunication involves the use of electrical devices such as telegraph, telephone and etc. through the transmitting and receiving of microwave using the antenna. There are many types of antenna, such as horn antenna, microstrip antenna, reflector antenna and etc., for different applications. The purpose of this report is to present the design of high-gain microstrip grid array antenna for a 24-GHz car radar. The report will also describe the flow and process of carrying out the project. Several journal papers were studied to understand how to design the microstrip grid array antenna. The Ansoft High Frequency Simulator (HFSS Version 13) was then made use to construct and simulate the performance of the microstrip grid array antenna to meet the design specifications in this project. Recommendations of improving the microstrip grid array antenna will also be included in this report.
