Communication is vital to human society. With the vast infrastructure of mobile technology nowadays, information industry is one with the immeasurable extent of opportunities. The success of public agencies and business places depends heavily on location. Location-based advertising is a good example, where vendors care about building a closer relationship to the potential consumer. Google, with billions of dollars in annual revenue generated through targeted ads associated with online searches, might be able to improve the economics of such plans via location-based advertising. Singapore is a country filled with “events”. There is Pasar Malam, Flea markets, sales carnival fairs, community events, etc. happening almost every single week. Yet, the methods these event businesses have been using are just traditional marketing tools, for example, TV, flyers, emails. The advancement of smartphone and Mobile Internet Technology sparks many opportunities to include the everyday life activities into the digital process and communication. That is why we choose to develop a system that helps location-based advertising more easy to use and improve the business of many entrepreneurs who are facing difficulties in this gloomy economics situation. This Final year project is an android application used on mobile phone. It consists of admin and user apps. Admin can scan for user within his location range and retrieve a list of user information. He then proceeds to flush a designated SMS advertising on the location and information of the event nearby to all the users from the retrieved list. The user application, on the other hand, is used as a personal travel diary, for recording events together with their photos and personal notes.en_US
