Abstract: This report will cover the fundamentals of the form factor that my team and I have used, specifically focusing on the portion for wireless LAN communication. Wireless networks are pretty common among many applications such as cellphone applications, sending telemetry data in UAV and many others. This report will include the different protocols that are discovered over the years, with IEEE 802.11n being the newest technology invented. The process of picking the right choice of antenna will also be discussed in order to provide a clearer understanding of the usage of different antennas and a few test results will be discussed. Lastly, some simulation records were taken when performing simulation of the RF transmitter and receiver portion in order to derive the gain and noise figure of the transmitter and receiver effectively.
