Nowadays, thanks to the development of technology, the battery changed a lot. Contrast to the dry cells, there is a new type of battery called flow battery, which is found very suitable to be energy storage system. This project is to introduce one kind of flow batteries, all-Vanadium Redox flow Battery, and show the feasibility through the cost-benefit-analysis of the all-Vanadium Redox Battery Energy Storage System (VRB-ESS) being employed in building. As VRB have many advantages, such as high efficiency, long lifespan, short response time and high recovery of its components, it is widely used as energy storage, the peak shaving and spinning reserve. In this project, the cost and benefit of VRB-ESS for building applications in Singapore was calculated and compared. Through the compare results, the calculation was come to that the VRB-ESS can be installed for the building model which is set in the project. The other recommendations are that VRB-ESS is more suitable for the large-scale companies and residences and that a relatively large size VRB-ESS employed for a building is better than a small one when both of them can satisfy the power usage of the building.en_US
