Abstract

In the world today, there are varieties of challenges that will prevent people from achieving their financial goals. Rapid increase in price hikes for products and a staggering amount of debts have made saving money almost an impossible task. Despite that, most people still have no idea that they need to know their incomes and expenses to avoid any financial trouble in the future. Keeping track of expenses are necessary. In fact, it is a lot harder than keeping track of your incomes. For income, people can easily identify from their pay check. However, for expenditures, people tend to forget those small expenses. Those breakfast sets and meals will add up to your expenditure. In the end, people tend to underestimate their values which will lead to overspending.

Through this project, an easy to use Android application is produced that will provide people with a tool to calculate their expenses. They are able to tell their spending for the day easily through a chart. They are also able to see which item costs them the most for the month. Hence, they are able to improve their control over the money that they have for the next month. If a report is needed, a PDF file can be produced through the application. The application also comes with a camera function to take pictures of receipts. Therefore, people don't need a hard time in keeping the receipts. In summary, the application is a solution that tries to answer what most people need in an expense tracking tool.
