Abstract: Tides as a renewable energy source has various advantages, such as clean, inexhaustible and predictable. Due to the fast development of human civilization, the consumption of our reserved natural resources has extremely increased. Tidal energy stands out as the good target to discover for finding clean and sustainable energy resources. The key of this project is to build up a variable-speed tidal turbine equipped with permanent magnet synchronous generator. This project is divided into model build of tidal turbine and PMSG and control part. As the control part carried out, the system can harness maximum power from flowing waves at variable tidal speed. After adjustment, stable and efficient output power can be generated from the system.
