Abstract: Common conditions of the hand such as trigger finger and De Quervain’s tenosynovitis are caused by swollen tendon sheaths or tendons. Clinicians often inject corticosteroids into these areas to reduce inflammation. In the injection process, tendons are often perforated by the injecting hypodermic needle. There have been many reports regarding tendon ruptures.
