Abstract: The objective of this project is to estimate the possible impacts of Goods and Services Tax in Singapore. It will focus on three players in the economy, namely, the consumers, the producers and the government. It will make an estimate of the effects of GST in Singapore by a literature review of economic theories; a research on GST in New Zealand and Japan, and its effects; an analysis of the impacts of the tax on the growth rates of private consumption, CPI and GDP in Singapore.
