Abstract: This research arose in an attempt to gain a better insight into productivity improvement in the banking industry, as little research has been done. The purpose of this report is to provide an analysis of the various productivity improvement practices emphasised in this particular industry. This study more specifically aims to explore and understand the relationship of the age of the chief executive officer and the ownership and the size of the banks, with the various productivity improvement practices.
