Abstract: The economic reform in China has created a partial market system in which institutional conditions are transitional and ever changing. This report recognises that such a transitional economy has encouraged the emergence of many new corporate systems, apart from the hierarchical state enterprises. The characteristic features of the state enterprises, collective enterprises and the joint ventures will be discussed.
