Issue Date: 2014
Abstract: Nowadays, nanotechnology had been widely used in the industry of pharmacy, chemistry and materials. Nanomaterial has attracted great interest of scientists due to its great properties like the large surface area to volume ratio, unique optical property and size dependent property. In the area of material science, the Nano oxide is very important considering its application in catalyst, lubricant and surfactant. In this report, the characteristic and processing of Nano based iron oxide hydride with Carbon Nanotube (CNT) or Carbon Nano fiber (CNF) is investigated since iron oxide nanoparticles have great magnetic property. Also it has wide medical applications since they are biocompatible and non-toxic to human bodies. These properties make it used as sensors magnetic storage devices and magnetic resonance image for medical diagnostic. The focus of the project is the observation of the performance of the Nano scale iron oxide after heat treatment on the iron powder and the effect of addition of CNT or CNF on the oxidation process.
