Abstract: The study of skin topography has many important applications in medical and cosmetics industries. By following the variations in skin topography and its corresponding 3 dimensional parameters, effectiveness of medical and cosmetic treatments can be assessed and suitable recommendations made. In order to conduct skin surface topography studies effectively, a suitable protocol for measuring skin topography and 3D relief parameters is required. Thus it is the objective of this dissertation to develop such a protocol and to study some variations of skin surface parameters with different measuring variables.
