Issue Date: 2002
Abstract: This project determined if glass fiber membrane could be an effective solid matrix for DNA binding. An attempt was also made to determine the key parameters that affect the degree of efficiency and effectiveness of DNA binding onto membrane. An attempt was also made to isolate DNA from whole blood using paramagnetic beads and study parameters that could affects the yield with the aim of increasing it.
