Abstract: Tourism has made immense contribution to the development of Singapore economy in the past three decades. Being a major portion of tourism, the contribution of the airline industry towards Singapore economy cannot be overlooked. As our economy depends heavily on the tourism industry, we must not only attract new visitors and keep the old ones satisfied, we must also provide an excellent air carrier, Singapore Airlines, to bring these visitors safely from their countries to Singapore. It follows that correspondingly, Singapore Airlines must constantly enhance and maintain its service quality and public image. Our objective in this report is to provide guidelines and recommendations to the management of Singapore Airlines (and all other airlines in Asia) so that more effective operational and marketing strategies can be develop to enhance the airline's competitiveness in the airline industry.
