Abstract: The banking sector has always been a highly competitive industry. As a result, many studies have expounded the concept of bank profitability. However, few have ventured into the regimes of South East Asia (SEA) . Recently, SEA is perceived by many to show great economic and financial potential. Therefore we believe that an examination of bank profitability in this region will be of enormous benefit. The Indonesian banks, having enjoyed profitability for the past few years, would be an ideal economy for further exploration in the above-mentioned study.
