Productivity analysis and its strategic implications are becoming increasingly important to branch management in the banking sector and banks have to operate more efficiently and effectively in an increasingly competitive environment in order to sustain their relative positions in the industry. Therefore, any source of inefficiency detected in a bank branch will be of utmost concern to management.
