Abstract: In this study, a new type of gas diffusion layer - a carbon-filled gas diffusion layer (CFGDL) and a novel self-humidifying electrode – silica added electrode have been developed for PEMFC performance improvement. The performance and microstructure of the membrane electrode assembly related to CFGDL and the self-humidifying electrode – silica added electrode were investigated by various experimentations associated with model analysis.
