Issue Date: 1997
Abstract: In recent years, full entertainment complexes have been springing up all over the suburbs in Singapore, in the midst of a retail environment with a gloomy outlook aggravated by intense competition, increasing operating costs, tighter margins, increasing supply of retail space and the strong Singapore dollar. More of such complexes are planned and being constructed during this period of retail gloom predicted by the Singapore Retail Association (SRA) to last for at least two or three more years.
