Abstract

Card technology has progressed from plastic cards to smart cards. However, many people only have superficial knowledge about plastic cards and smart cards. Therefore, this report included the characteristics and functions of the common types of plastic cards used in Singapore and other countries, the history of the smart card technology and the different types of smart cards in Singapore.
