Abstract: The convenience of being able to shop for all types of groceries under one roof, growing consumer affluence and a growing number of suburban shopping centres are some of the reasons that has led to the increase in the number of supermarkets in Singapore. As consumers become more sophisticated, demanding wider choices and better quality services from retailers, the latter are faced with the challenge of developing retail strategies in response to changing consumer's behaviour and taste.
