Title: Mathematical model of photothermal lens of single particle
Authors: Marta Andika

Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: Photothermal lens technique has been widely used for sample characterization because of its advantages, such as, highly sensitive, non-contact and nondestructive in nature. Both the photothermal lens and imaging techniques have been applied in diverse fields. For example, photothermal lens technique has been developed for material characterization such as measuring optical and thermal properties of materials and liquids [1-3]. Photothermal imaging has been utilized to image nano-scale object and characterization of semiconductor nano-crystals [4, 5]. In recent years, these techniques have been extended to biomedical application especially in single cell and particle characterization [6-10].
