Abstract: As the result of development in data communication networks, control and sensing technologies over networks are increasingly used in the control area and they have attracted significant attention in recent years. In a networked control system (NCS), digital (nowadays mostly packet-based) data networks are used for connections between spatially distributed components of a control loop (plant, controller, sensor and actuator, etc) and the control loop is closed via a communication network channel. And in a sensor network (SN), which is a network of independent sensors, the measured data is sent to the estimator, monitoring station or the control station via a communication network, usually wireless. Although using a distributed control system over a network provides flexibility in installation and maintenance and results in lower costs, etc, it also gives rise to several complexities in the system.
