Buying a new car

Abstract

This Applied Research Project is aimed at assisting the car buyer in the

purchase decisions he will have to make when buying a new car. In this report,

we will present the relevant information concerning the road pricing policies of

Singapore, the taxes and levies imposed on new cars, and more importantly the

fmancing options available to the new car buyer.

The analyses contained in this report are aimed at giving the new car

buyer a tangible and quantitative idea of the expenditure involved in completing

his or her purchase. It is hoped that through the information and analyses

presented in this report, the car buyer will be able to make an informed decision

on the fmancial feasibility and attractiveness of purchasing a new car, and the

options available to him.
