Abstract: This dissertation examines how single and multi-location “Singapore local factories” deliver products to customer using Concurrent Engineering (CE) principles. Three major issues examined include: (1) what are the managerial and technological responses that require CE in general; (2) how is the CE practice (3) what are culturally the differences between the upstream engineering/design and the downstream manufacturing function that are relevant to CE implementation.
