Abstract: Computer scientists view believably reliable publication databases such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) as a disadvantage as both of them contained erroneous citation records. This report describes how the project created an application to extract data and compare citation count from Google Scholar and Scopus so show the error rate. The project uses several approaches and techniques to face the difficulties and problems in the process of database access and data extraction before populating the local database. Following this report allows exposure on how to request the desirable data from server and how to extract the correct data.
