Authors: Lai, Weichun
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Industrial engineering::Project management
Issue Date: 2004
Abstract: This study presents a conceptual framework of business risk management for Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) in investing in China based on Singapore SMEs' experience. Drawing essence from ancient military strategist Sun Tzu's concepts and philosophy on risks and uncertainties as well as modern concepts and framework on Project Risk Management (PRM), this dissertation first takes a balanced view of the motivation for developing business venture opportunities and handling the associated risks and uncertainties in an overseas growth market, and then delineates a range of business risks into four mnemonic dimensions.
